This site provides picture scrolls viewable via horizontal scrolling, along with descriptions and search features.

Accuracy of descriptions

Descriptions are for reference only. We do not guarantee academic accuracy or completeness. Consult originals and scholarly sources for important decisions.

Copyright and sources

Each scroll lists bibliographic and source information. Rights belong to holding institutions and rights holders. Images from ColBase and other sources are resized, converted (e.g. to WebP), and otherwise processed for display. Each scroll page shows source attribution and a processing notice; we do not present processed images as if they were created by the holding institution.
